[softwarelist] Re: Pasting text and graphics into OPW from Windows global clipboard

I came across a problem with OPW (v. 2.92 16 October 2007) today, which I have not encountered before ...

I first loaded a large (20 pages) PDF document (containing text and images) into the OCR package OmniPage Pro (v 12.0). I copied the output from OmniPage Pro to the Windows clipboard, then pasted it into a blank OPW document. There followed much CPU activity, ending with OPW becoming unresponsive and having to be "killed" via the Task Manager.

Any thoughts on why this happens, and how to resolve it?

I'm using Windows XP (SP 2) on a P4 3 GHz computer with 2.00 GB RAM (and 3.00 GB virtual memory) and Radeon 9600 series 256 MB graphics card.

(Why did I want to paste the OmniPage output into OPW? In order to edit the text ... which in some ways is easier to do in OPW than in MSWORD 2003)
