The U.S. Fire Administration has received notice of the following
firefighter fatality:

Name:  Dixie Speckelberg
Rank:  Firefighter/EMT         
Age:  60                 
Gender:  Female         
Status:  Volunteer                 
Years of Service: 20 years
Date of Incident: 12/18/2003                        
Date of Death: 12/18/2003                
Fire Department Name:  Lovilla Fire & Rescue                         
Fire Department Address: 317 Mill Street, Hamilton, Iowa 50116         
Fire Department Phone/Fax Number:  (641) 891-0395  
Fire Department Chief:  Corey Bakalar 
Cause of Death:  FF/EMT Speckelberg was rendering aid to victims of a
motor vehicle accident when she started having chest pains.  She
collapsed
at the scene and was transported to the local hospital where she was
pronounced dead.
Funeral Services were held December 20, 2003.
