Area Birders,
For the last few weeks a juvenile Cooper's Hawk has been coming each morning to
sit in the tree or on the pond rocks outside the dining room door. Sometimes it
sits for as much as an hour. At other times it must be hungry because it drops
from its perch after a few minutes to attempt to flush the birds from under the
shrubs. It often flushes birds, but is usually not successful in catching one.
Here are a couple of photos. The first one was taken through the glass dining
room door. The second is a close-up of the bird on the branch.
