This morning (12 Dec) the following were seen at Musick's Campground on
South Holston Lake in northeast Tenn.:

Surf Scoter - 8 (1 then shot by hunter)
First seen at a considerable distance, these were initially thought to
be Black Scoters (mea culpa); but, after being shot at by some nearby
hunters & then landing much closer to us, they clearly proved to be Surf
Scoters.

Pied-billed Grebe - 5
Am. Black Duck - 5
Lesser Scaup - 9
scaup / Ring-nk Duck - 14 (high flyers)
Bufflehead - 22
Bald Eagle - 1 ad.
Bonaparte's Gull - 35
Ring-billed Gull - 25
