We are in countdown to the BBC 11th Annual Regional Christmas Party for birders:
T -540 minutes and counting. All systems go. Breathing rapid. Pulse
increased.
This is a final warning to those of you who are traveling on the
roads Saturday evening. If you are in the vicinity of Piney Flats, I-26 in
Johnson City, I-181 Kingsport, I-381 Bristol, I-81 Abingdon/Bristol/Blountville,
please have a designate driver.

You might be overcome with all the smiles of birders
across the region who are headed to the BBC 11th Annual Regional
Christmas Party at the Ellen, Bob and Charlier Parker home in Piney Flats.

Traffic approaching Piney Flats may want to take alternate routes.
Kingsport to Johnson City
will be choked with cars heading to the party. More than an
hour delay is expected on U.S. 11E as birder traffic creeps
into Piney Flats. The State of Franklin off ramp to the Motor Mile
will be delayed 45 minutes. Mendota pike has 2 hour delay. Ron Harrington's
driveway 30 min. delay.

Do not park on the pavement along U.S.11E so urgent fire inspector vehicle
can arrive as needed. That unit has a green light flashing on top :-(

All streets leading into the party house will be
switched to one way traffic until the crowd has arrived. Rush lanes will flow
inbound 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Sullivan County /Spring Creek Embayment Transit Authority toll booths for
394 will take only correct change and wooden nickels.

South bound at Abingdon follow VDOT laneside instruction
signs for party traffic, Walmart and Dairy Queen.

All Tennessee north bound interstate traffic heed TDOT "amber alert" rare
bird messages and BBC party plan instructions.

Out-of-town birders use Piney Flats parking lots I-16, B38, G-22 O-30
N-45. Bingo!

Mass transit systems boarding at Colonial Heights in Kingsport
should be at public parking there by 5 p.m. South-bound
subways traffic from Exit 7 in Bristol Virginia and including the
Abingdon AmTrack to Bristol Motor Speedway will depart from blue,
orange and red platforms.

Bags full of gifts and food to be stored in oven cars and frig
car or bag cars on AmTrack must be checked by 5 p.m.
Birders with carry-on scopes and binoculars should
keep all field guides in their pockets.

Homeland Security will be under RED alert during the partydown time.

This is going to be a serious, goodtime, Christmas party of
mega proportions for regional birders and friends.

This is serious. Very serious party time. Breath deeply Mad Dog !
Breath deeply.

Do I hear the prancing and pawing of each
little hoof ? Brace yourselves!!!!

Let's go partying.....
