To all the birders of the region:
We hope you will be gathered with us at the Parker home near Piney Flats when 
Santa's big red sleigh comes over the treetops from Rosedale, Va. for a landing 
approach in Summerfield !  This is the official designated touchdown of the 
Bristol Bird Club Regional Christmas Party !

There will be no complaints from Santa as to how to find this house.  On quiet 
nights he usually has to follow the calling hoot owls as beacons to our party 
house.  Not this year.  Not even in a good fog on a windy night.  Not even in 
your dreams!

The Parker house is a beautiful, two-story brick house prominent on a rise 
above Summerfield.  The curb appeal of Christmas spirt is evident.  Here BBC 
finds a wonderful place to partydown with Larry "Mad Dog" McDaniels -- first 
host eleven years ago and original partytime, goodtime chief of the Bristol 
Bird Club.  Mr. Christmas Excitement !

All of us senior citizens will delight with the spacious and abundant close 
parking, nearly flat grade to the front door.  No elevators or from parking 
buildings.  No hike along a dark alley near the weir dam.

This is a big sapcious neighborhood.  The route to the house and thru 
Summerfield is direct, simple and straighforward.

Carolyn and I made our usual pre-BBC scouting trip to find the house and 
measure mileage Saturday afternoon.  We just winged our way in with little 
directions except name of subdivision, street and house number (more than 
enough in itself).  Found it on the first try with no wrong turns.  

You haven't begun to hear about the BBC Annual Regional Christmas Party.  Stay 
tuned!  It is Christmas time in the mountains ;-)  We'll have much more for you 
in a day or so.
