Just got back in (literally)from the Shady Valley / Mountain City CBC
--Beautiful day, high 44, low 32 -- too beautiful with steady to strong winds
all day. Missed some "usuals" but managed to pull out some good
birds....(Wallace Coffey needs to look at the end of this report).
Best bird of day - SANDHILL CRANEjust across Beaver Dam Creek from the vantage
point at Quarry bog --- It took off getting higher and higher and just when we
thought it was going to leave the valley, it turned, stooped, and started
coming back down in the area of Orchard Bog but we lost it behind the trees and
didn't see it the rest of the day.
The rest of the list from AREA C is as follows:

Flicker.
*****THIS JUST IN******
Glen Eller just called to inform me that they had 6 Wild Turkeys on the other
side of the road from Orchard Bog (Wallace Coffey's crew side) --- As they were
leaving, Glen said that he and Howard were going to take the scenic route
around Orchard Rd leaving (not poaching!!!) -- He wanted Wallace to know this
to add to his list if he didn't get them when he was there....How is that for a
scramble???
