John et al.,
Indeed, 3 Nov is very late for Com. Nighthawk in Northeast Tenn.
Few linger past early Oct and the record late date locally is 4 Nov.

Subject: [Bristol-Birds] Common Nighthawk
On Friday, November 03 I watched a Common Nighthawk flying in and out of the
lights at the Dobbins-Bennett football game. I would imagine that this is a
very late sighting in the fall. Also, below are interesting sightings at our
home in Kingsport:
10/29 - Yellow-rumped Warbler, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Cooper's Hawk,
Golden-crowned Kinglet, Dark-eyed Junco
10/31 - Brown Creeper (2)
11/01 - White-throated Sparrow (2), Yellow-rumped Warbler, **Blue-headed
Vireo** (singing), Eastern Phoebe, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Chipping Sparrow
11/02 - Wood Duck (5), Eastern Phoebe, Yellow-rumped warbler
11/03 - Yellow-rumped Warbler (2), Dark-eyed Junco
11/04 - Cooper's Hawk, White-throated Sparrow (4), Cedar Waxwing (14)
11/05 - Eastern Phoebe, Cedar Waxwing (7), Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Dark-eyed
Junco, Great blue Heron, Golden-crowned Kinglet (3), Hermit Thrush (2)
