Thank you Rack for the id on the Double-crested Cormorants.  Justin
Moore and I spotted the birds on the lake, but were never able to get a
good look as they were traveling away from us toward the dam and into
the sun.  I spotted a single cormorant again this morning at 8:00 am.  
 
I checked the records for this bird in the park, and Andy Jones and
Kevin Hamed had the first record in June 1996.  I also found a listing
for October 16, 2002, and it was listed there as the third record for
the park.  So this is the fourth time that this species has been
observed in Steele Creek Park.
