Watauga and Wilbur Lakes
Brookie and Jean Potter joined J.T. McNeil and me this afternoon (11/22/05)
for a little birding at the Watauga Dam overlook area. Lots of loons!
Present on Watauga Lake:
Red-breasted Merganser (1)
Common Loon (167)
Pied-billed Grebe (3)
Double-crested Cormorant (65)
Ring-billed Gull (98)
Present on Wilbur Lake:
Gadwall (4)
Ring-necked Duck (1)
Bufflehead (213)
Present on Watauga River:
Hooded Merganser (4)
Pied-billed Grebe (18)
Brookie and Jean also had two Fox Sparrows at their feeders (near Wilbur
Lake).
