White Top Creek Park and Sports Complex
HWY 394 (across from speedway)
Bristol, TN
.
The Bristol Bird Club inaugurated new turf Saturday morning when they held a
field trip at White Top Creek Park in Bristol, TN. Kevin Elam and Rack Cross
were leaders and in attendance were: Janice Martin, Wallace Coffey, Sam Cross,
Judy Roach, Mary Erwin, and Ruth Smith.
All present were impressed with diversity of habitat in a concentrated area
with paved walkways on gentle slopes. This location is great for birding
especially with the small pond of Trumpeter Swan fame, a nice second growth
wood
line, and a small wetland area. Also productive for our field trip were the
soccer fields where we observed Raptors and Plover and heard meadowlarks. This
park
has the potential of becoming an area hot spot. Check it out!
