The Bristol Bird Club's Saturday (Nov. 22) sparrow field trip in Shady
Valley will be held this weekend. Birders will meet at 8 a.m. at the silo
next to the flashing caution light over the interesection of U.S. 421.
Everyone is welcome, even if you don't know what a bird is.
For those who want to arrive early for light breakfast, coffey, hot drinks,
or whatever, the Cranberry Cafe opens about 6 a.m. The morning weather
should be good and it will not only be good birding but our always wonderful
fellowship.
Birders will be visiting some of the less traditional areas and boglands in
Shady Valley and this will be an excellent opportunity for those who want to
become more familiar with winter sparrows. Shady has nice public access and
many great fields for birding. Obviously, BBC birders will look at
everything else that has wings and can be identified. So sparrows are not
the only good possibilities on the menu.
The actual BBC organized field trip will conclude about noon but those who
want to linger for lunch and/or more birding can carry on until you are
exhausted.
Take care.......
Let's go briding....
