Bristol Area Birders:

A Surf Scoter was at Musick's Campground on South
Holston Lake while I birded there early this afternoon (11/4).
It was in Sullivan Co., TN.

I also had a Vesper Sparrow 1 and Horned Lark 1 , Common
Loon 3, Pied-billed Grebe 7, Bonaparte's Gull (2-immatures)
and Canada Goose 46 while at Musick's.

Elsewhere: a flock of at least 200 Rusty Blackbirds were
along King Lane, Holston Valley, Sullivan Co., TN.; Wood Duck 1
at pond on Pemberton Rd. Sullivan Co., Black Ducks (2) at
same pond.

Weir Dam below South Holston Dam, Sullivan Co., Greater
Scaup 1, Amerigan Wigeon 22, Herring Gull 7, Ring-billed
Gull 38, Bufflehead 25, Hooded Merganser 1 and a Double-crested
Cormorant on the lake just above the dam.

Middlebrook Lake, Sullivan Co., TN: the color band marked
Double-creasted Cormorant still present. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife
Service is waiting on information to be returned from the bander.
The banding lab believes this bird was banded in New York state.

Also at Middlebrook: Ring-necked Duck 5, Coot 3, Ring-billed
Gulls 1, Hooded Merganser 9, Ruddy Duck 3, Pied-billed Grebe 2,
Great Blue Heron 2 and Kingfishers 2.

Let's go birding...
