I took a short stroll on linear trail along Watauga River in
Elizabethton, Carter Co., TN, Thursday, Oct. 11. I spotted a House
Wren, one Palm Warbler, two Eastern Phoebes, 1 Eastern Wood-Pewee, many
Yellow-rumped Warblers and one Black-throated Green Warbler in such
vibrant plumage I could have sworn it was April and not October.
I also saw a few residents, such as Eastern Towhee and Red-bellied
Woodpecker as well as several Blue Jays, Northern Flickers and six
Black Vultures.
Bryan Stevens,
Hampton, TN
