The Rufous Hummingbird that showed up at my house on Tuesday
Oct 4 is still present today Friday, Oct 7.  The bird shows
a lot of rufous on its sides and quite a bit of rufous color
on its lower back around the tail area.  The bill seems to be
longer to me than the Ruby-throateds.  I had an immature
Ruby-throated that was here until the day the Rufous arrived.
That first day the Ruby was constantly chasing the Rufous off 
its favorite perch.  But I have not seen the young Ruby-throated
since that first day the Rufous arrived.  I am still trying to
get some good pictures of the rufous but is had to take good
pictures through sreened windows and it is much too wet to get
out in the yard for better outside pictures.  Any of you that
are more professional photographers than I am are welcome to
come to my house to see if you can get a good picture.
