Carolyn and I birded Musick's Campground on South Holston Lake just at sunset 
tonight (10/6) finding a single Horned Grebe (my first of fall).  Also had 3 
Eared Grebes.  Nearby an adult Bald Eagle sat in the top of a pine tree along 
the shoreline and faced the fading evening sun.  An immature Blue-winged Teal 
was present.
Carol and Rack Cross joined us with just a little light remaining and Rack 
called up 3 Eastern Screech Owls.  A Great Horned Owl was hooting near Musick's 
Campground.

At least two of the Screech Owls were right in the Musick's Campground so there 
is promise that we might have birds roosting in one or two of the owl roosting 
boxes we recently cleaned and made reading for winter.  The owls should move 
into the the structures in about a month.
