[Bristol-Birds] Mendota Hawk Report September 13, 2007
- From: RonEHarrin@xxxxxxx

After with very slow morning with no hawks, the Broad-wings began to show up
in the afternoon. I arrived at 9:30, and was joined by Mitch Moore around
1:00. It was mostly sunny but the "mackerel skies, sundog rainbows, mare's
tails,
and vapor trails" gave us a good backdrop against which we could find some of
the high flyers. The wind was out of the East/southeast all day, 5-15 mph.
Temperatures ranged from 66 in the morning to around 80 in afternoon.
Visibility
was limited by haze to 10-15 miles. The first Broad-winged hawk arrived at
12:04 and we were still seeing an occasional one when we had to leave at 6:15.
Totals:
Broad-winged hawk: 66 YTD: 78
Osprey: 0 YTD: 5
Am. Kestrel: 1 YTD: 2
Sharp-shinned hawk: 0 YTD: 1
