Hi All,
Yesterday was a fair day for migrants here in our yard on the mountain with 34
species counted. A flock of 6 Eastern Kingbirds were sitting in the top of an
apple tree hawking insects. Two Wood Pewees were doing the same in the
backyard, and a Great Crested Flycatcher stopped by for a few minutes.
The first Magnolia Warbler of the season came to bathe and drink in the yard
stream. Other warblers that showed up were
Black-and-white 1
Blackburnian Warbler 3 (2 adult females and one 1st year female)
Chestnut-sided Warbler (1st year female)
Tennessee Warbler 4
Worm-eating Warbler 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Yellow-throated Warbler 2
Other interesting birds were
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 2
Brown Thrasher 2
Cedar Waxwings 8
Eastern Bluebird 2
Eastern Towhee 2
Indigo Bunting 3
Red-shouldered Hawk 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 3
Song Sparrow 3
