  I spent Sunday at Musick's Campground (Sullivan Co, TN on South Holston 
Lake) with all the jet skiiers and Labor Day boaters. I had Howard Young 
with me and we met Mike Poe. An uneventful afternoon with pleasant company. 
Only birds to speak of were 3 Caspian Terns. Didn't see much else because 
of the boat traffic.

Yesterday, I went to Rankin Bottoms (south of White Pine, TN on the French 
Broad/Douglas Lake) and ran in to a group from Upper East TN. and SW 
Virginia, including Don Holt, Don Miller, Glen Eller and family. I don't 
have the complete list so the list for that.  Among those sighted were 
Caspian Terns, Osprey, D-C Commorants, Great Egrets, Great Blue Herons, 
Green Herons, Buff-breasted Sandpipers, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, S-B 
Dowitchers, Semipalmated Plovers, Killdeer, and a lots of other peeps.

The road is barely passable, I was concerned because of comments on the 
list. Other than Grand Canyon-sized potholes, it was ok. The rain to come 
this week may change that.
