[Bristol-Birds] House Wren building nest - Photos

Area Birders,
Twice in the last week or so I have watched birds gathering nesting
material. The first, as I reported here earlier, was a TN Warbler. The
second was Friday, Sept. 30. I noticed a House Wren in my yard. This is only
the second record ever recorded here for this species. This species is not a
common one for Buchanan County. We had our first confirmed successful
nesting within the county this year.
A short time later I video taped the Wren carrying twigs to a small
decorative birdhouse just a short distance from our dining room door. The
bird made several trips carrying material. Shortly after I had to leave, and
didn't return until after dark. I haven't seen the bird since. This nest
would probably have been one of the "dummy" nests these birds build but
never use.
