Rack Cross' referance to a "road worn Coffey" is really putting it very kind
and very politely. I got so upset on my stomach from a Philly steak
sandwich,
and onion rings in North Carolina, a vanila milkshake in Johnson City and
riding
mountain and country roads that I about died. We were on our way up Stony
Creek, north of Elizabethton, when I begged out of a Shady Valley search for
Marsh Wrens and Sedge Wrens. Rack turned around and took me to my car at
Bristol Motor Raceway. He was so concerned about my illness, he followed
my car to my house (after I finally decided it was a good idea and agreed).
Of course Rack is a professional Emergency Medical Technician and I didn't
take his judgement too lightly. Who knows when something is going on with
you that you may not detect yourself. It only took me almost four hours to
settle my stomach and the terrible feeling you get from eathing and riding
too much in the same day.
I'll never forget the time years ago at Rural Retreat Lake when Ken Hale
talked me into going back to my car while walking to see waterfowl. I
became so scared about Ken's concern, I went to see my doctor. They put me
in the hospital and did a catherization on my heart.
You have to watch those Philly steak sandwiches and pay attention to EMT
Cross!!
I try not to let my pride or confidence over rule the judgement of more
calm, cool and observant souls -- no matter how humble I have to be.
Don't believe EMT Cross when he says I was road worn. I was sick as a dog
!!!
Thanks to Sam and Rack.....
Let's go birding...
