Area Birders,
Early this morning two other members of the Buchanan County Bird Club,
Clarence and Jack Brown, came to my house on Compton Mountain to see the
morning warbler rush. They were not disappointed. We had 44 species for the
day with 14 of those being warblers.
The warblers seen were 1 AMERICAN REDSTART, 4 BLACK-AND-WHITES, 2
BLACKBURNIANS, 1 female BLACK-THROATED BLUE, 6 BLACK-THROATED GREENS, 1
BLUE-WINGED, 2 BAY-BREASTED, 5 CAPE MAYS, 6 CHESTNUT-SIDEDS, 3 HOODED, 2
MAGNOLIAS, 17 TENNESSEES, 1 YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, AND 6 YELLOW-THROATED
WARBLERS.
4 species of vireos were present with a White-eyed singing all morning.
For those who wish to see it the complete list follows.
Enjoy the migration,
Roger Mayhorn
