Bristol Birders:
The 13th of the month is here again and we should also find
migrant warbler here.
The Bristol Bird Club's 13th of the Month Birdwalk will get
under way Friday (9/13) at 9 a.m. at the Weir Dam below
South Holston Dam east of Bristol in Sullivan Co., TN.
We start at 9 a.m. so that folks who have some distance to
drive will not have to get up as soon as they go to bed and
drive before dawn to be with us.
The cold front which passed Wednesday should be bringing
us good migrants. We will have excellent habitat
near the Weir Dam and, if everyone is in the mood, we'll
walk and bird a flat trail that many of you didn't know was
available. It is a pretty trail and a good place to bird.
Come on out and help kickoff BBC's Super Friday which will
end at a big, beautiful house high on a hilltop in Abingdon
Va. with our annual banquet which begins at 7 p.m.
Put on your walking shoes and bring you binoculars. Get
out and see the early-fall wildflowers which have covered
the fields. Enjoy migrant fall warblers and watch everyone
else make a fool out of themselves by trying to ID them.
You'll love it. You'll have a great time, great birding and
great fellowship with the BBC.
Most of all, you will be putting the first morning touch to
a great BBC Super Friday and we'll help stir your excitement
towards the anticipated annaul banquet and our wonderful
speaker.
See all of you at the Weir Dam at 9 a.m. for the 13th of
the Month Field Trip. Rain or shine! Be there!
Let's go birding.....
