[Bristol-Birds] Caspian Tern, Musick's Campground

Dave Thometz and Bryan Stevens observed a single Caspian Tern and two Great
Blue Herons at Musick's Campground, Sullivan County, TN, on South Holston Lake
at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24.
At the nearby TVA Boat Access Area we observed a Pied-billed Grebe, about a
half dozen Cedar Waxwings, a half dozen Eastern Kingbirds and a Belted
Kingfisher.
At the Spring Creek section of the lake in Virginia, we had two Killdeer and
a large flock of Red-winged Blackbirds, Common Grackles and European
Starlings. We also had a "peep" being chased by a Common Grackle. I don't know
what
caused the hostilities, but the small shorebird, dwarfed by the grackle, fled
the
area and we didn't relocate it.

Hampton, TN
