David Thometz and I saw a female Black-throated Blue Warbler during a 
woodland walk at my home in Hampton, TN, on Sunday, Aug. 8. We also saw a 
Worm-eating 
Warbler and a male Hooded Warbler. We also heard at least 2 Red-breasted 
Nuthatches.
The Black-throated Blue Warbler and the Red-breasted Nuthatches do not breed 
in the woodlands immediately around my home, but could very well be dispersing 
from local mountains of higher elevations. A stand of large Eastern Hemlock 
and White Pine appears to be the attraction for the nuthatches.

In addition to the birds, we saw several blooming Cranefly Orchids and Downy 
Rattlesnake Plantain Orchids.
