Area Birders,
With a cool 58 degrees this morning the birds were really active in my
backyard. In addition to the regular, Towhees, Mourning Doves, Goldfinches
and Ruby-throats, etc. I had a Black-and-white Warbler, a Worm-eating
Warbler,two Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, a Great-crested Flycatcher, a Scarlet
Tanager, a first year female Baltimore Oriole,two Red-eyed Vireos, two Brown
Thrashers, a Downy Woodpecker, a Red-bellied Woodpecker and a Pileated
Woodpecker. All of these birds were seen and not just heard, while I was
standing in one location during a period of about thirty minutes.
