Gil Derouen, Reece Jamerson and Bryan Stevens did some birding at the fields
along Old State Route 34 and Taylor Bridge Road in Washington County on
Tuesday, July 17.

They heard 1 or 2 Dickcissels, but never located a bird by sight. They saw and
heard a Grasshopper Sparrow, Indigo Buntings, Eastern Meadowlark, Eastern
Kingbird and an American Kestrel.

While birding, they heard the insistent calls of an abandoned tabby kitten,
which found them after crossing the busy Old State Route 34.

Anyone looking for an adorable kitten? Have got one free to a good home. ;)

Bryan Stevens,
Hampton, TN
