Steele Creek Park -- An urban wilderness beyond compare.
Not everyone is allowed to see what you see in this photo !
Thousands of hikers, bikers, fishermen, birders and general nature lovers enjoy
Steele Creek Park's back country trails and deep wilderness each month. Having
a secure and comfortable feeling is important.
Shown above is a patrol capitan from the Bristol Tennessee Police Department
afoot as he walks and watches along a Steele Creek Park trail one morning about
10 a.m. If you pass him as he hikes or bikes throught the park, you have no
way of knowing that he is an undercover police officer on park patrol. That
gold command badge is worn on his belt underneath the shirt. Sometimes you
may encounter a one or two young men riding mountain bikes. The police use
bicycle patrols as well as all-terrain-vehicles (4-wheelers) deep in the forest
of Steele Creek Park.
But there is one way you can sometimes detect if the police are nearby, even
when you don't know them on the trail. Here is a visual tip:
Don't keep the secret. Explore your urban wildness beyond the parking lots
.....safe and secure with assurance.
