Roan Mtn balds, Carter Co., TN (& Mitchell Co., NC)
(5500 - 6000 ft. elevation)
N. Bobwhite - 2
Alder Flycatcher - 5+
Hermit Thrush - 3 (in adjacent forest)
Vesper Sparrow - 1
Field Sparrow - 1 (uncommon at high elevation)
Red Crossbill - 2
Pine Siskin - 6
plus the other usual suspects at this elevation.
Additionally, a black bear was seen closely on Grassy Ridge
& the Gray's Lilies are near their peak now.
