Birders:( Birdwatching at Mossy Creek Wildlife Viewing Area in Jefferson City )
Today on June 10, 2007 Shane and Dennis Adams around 10:00 a.m while it was
still cool and before it gets too hot again we have gone to Jefferson City to
birdwatch at Mossy Creek Wildlife Viewing Area and also at the Refuge at the
end of the road after passing the Mossy Creek Parking Lot we saw some pretty
good birds they are: Cliff Swallows ( also flying around the Cherokee Dam and
the hay field after the hay is cut ), Eastern Kingbirds, about 12 or more Red
winged Blackbirds ( males & females ), Green Heron, Black Crowned Night Heron,
( with picture ) Indigo Buntings, Purple Martins,Turkey and Black Vultures (
soaring over head along with Chimney Swifts ), Great Blue Heron ( in the second
creek in the Refuge ) I also have notice that the Cherokee Lake is still down
and there is no water in the refuge and at Mossy Creek Wildlife Viewing Area in
front of the two blinds and they also are working on Mossy Creek so the make it
lot better so we can watch birds and wildlife.
