Hello,
I traveled a simular route yesterday (6-07) from about 1245 to 1500. I had my first DICKSISSEL of the season at JBR, also had good looks at the Green Rd. Red-headed woodpeckers (4) as they perched on fence post and the tree trunks about 6 ft off ground. I also saw a pair of Summer tanagers on Oakwood rd. and had 3 Kentucky warblers on Mason Lodge Rd. One singing and a pair? on the other side "chipping" and actually got a couple of looks at them. I also had a few good looks at the Grasshopper sparrows (4) at the intersection of Toby Rd and Smelcer rd. The bridge at JBR also had a hen turkey with about 5 poults. Pretty nice action for the middle of the day.
The afternoon before (6-06) I had my first Eurasion Collared Dove in Hamblen Co. It was on Dover Rd. just north of the Fishhatchery Rd intersection. They have been all around us so I figured it was a matter of time.
Keep on birdn,
Ben Britton
