[Bristol-Birds] Barn Owls at Mountain Home VA campus (Washington County, TN)

After the Herndon chapter meeting last PM (6/5/07) I went to check on the barn
owls at the theater building at the VA in Johnson City. Earlier in the day
while visiting the VA on business I had noted fresh whitewash on the walls and
owl pellets on the ground around the building. Last PM at about 9:30 I heard a
weak call coming from the overhang on the right side of the building. As I
approached to investigate I saw what appeared to be an immature bird
(fledging?) looking down from a gap in the overhang and heard a harsh call
(which gave me the strong urge to vacate the area immediately) from on top of
the roof. I then saw what appeared to be 2 adults fly off to nearby trees.
