Area Birders:

The Mute Swans at Middlebrook Lake in Bristol Tennessee are proudly showing
their new
cygnets for all to adore.

The two young are about the size of Pied-billed Grebes or a bit larger. They
are gray with
black eyes and black bills.

The term signet is also often used to refer to an immature swan, although the
correct spelling is
cygnet from the Latin cygnus.

Try keeping a safe distance when the adults and young are nearby.
Swans a known to quickly attack and that would not be fun.

Let's go birding......
