Wallace Coffey and I spent a warm morning birding the ponds between 
Meadowvew Marsh and Horse Creek in Sullivan County. We met Shane Newbold, a 
birder from Hohenwald, TN.

Mallard (6)
Northern Bobwhite (h)
Great Blue Heron
Green Heron
Black Vulture
Cooper's Hawk
Killdeer (3)
Mourning Dove (3)
Downy Woodpecker (h)
Blue Jay (h), mobbing calls where we heard an unidentified accipter
Tree Swallow (2)
Northern Rough-winged Swallow (8)
Barn Swallow (3)
Carolina Chickadee
Carolina Wren (h)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (3, including juveniles)
American Robins (lots on the golf course)
Northern Mockingbird
Cedar Waxwing (2)
Yellow-throated Warbler
Song Sparrow
Field Sparrow (h)
Indigo Bunting (4)
Red-wing Blackbird (20+)
Common Grackle
Brown-headed Cowbird (2)
American Goldfinch (10)
