Today I found a singing male Swainson's Warbler in a rhododendron
thicket along upper Paint Creek in Greene County. The exact location is
Viking Mountain Road 1.5 miles upslope (i.e., toward the summit) from
the intersection of Viking Mountain Road and Greene Mountain Road.
Although I have found a handful of Swainson's Warblers on upper Paint
Creek in spring over most of the last six years, today is the first time
I have found one in summer.
