Here is the Bristol Bird Club's bird walk info as it appears on Kingsport's
Funfest website, www.funfest.net and as it will appear in the promotional
material in media and festival guides for 2004. Save the dates: July 17 and
July 21 (walks are 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m). Come join the fun folks from the
Bristol Bird Club as they provide entertainment and a great outdoors
experience. Last big crowds atteended and the bird walks were as "good as
full."
BRISTOL BIRD CLUB BIRD WALK
The Bristol Bird Club will host guided walks along smooth, paved surfaces of
the Greenbelt and Bays Mountain Park Saturday, July 17, at Bays Mountain Park
Nature Trail. On Wednesday, July 21, birdwatchers will meet at the Greenbelt
Picnic Shelter Area and walk to the confluence of the rivers. Both walks last
from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Kingsport is home to many beautiful and interesting
species of birds, including neo-tropical migrants! Difficulty level is easy to
moderate, and participants are encouraged to wear sturdy walking shoes.
Binoculars and bird guides are helpful, but not required. This exploratory
event is sponsored by Ward's Feed Store and The Bristol Bird Club. For more
information, contact Rack Cross at 392-9440 or via email at
