[bristol-birds] Red-tailed Hawk vs. Rock Dove

Bristol Birders,

Michelle saw a Red-tailed Hawk take a Rock Dove from our
feeder yesterday. It killed the pigeon and then flew off at
least twice before returning to consume its meal - over an hour
later. So much for the idea that a hawk will not return to a
kill after leaving it. I've got about ten more pigeons so I'm
hoping the hawk becomes a regular. After the hawk flew off,
Michelle and I took a walk along the river. The highlights of
the walk included two Great Blue Herons, male and female Common
Yellowthroats, male and female Scarlet Tanagers, Indigo Buntings,
a Worm-eating Warbler, and a beaver working on his lodge.
