Here is the compilation for the TOS Meeting weekend in Northeast Tennessee.
The birders fanned out into 2 states (NE TN and SW VA) for 2 days and found 121
species of birds. They were treated to a combined 25 Warbler Species, 3 Vireo
Species, 6 Thrush Species, 8 Blackbird Species, and 3 rail species as
highlights.

Individual Highlights include: Virginia Rail at Steele Creek Park from Larry
McDaniel (et al) which was a park record for the city park in Bristol and a
Broad-winged Hawk sitting on its nest; 2 Virginia Rail and 1 Sora from Rick
Knight (et al) out of Quarry Bog in Shady Valley, the Shady Valley groups also
has a Swainson's Warbler with great views courtesy of Ron Hoff's scope; Dick
Peak saw a Evening Grosbeak fly across HWY 603 in the Laurel Vally Community of
White Top; the Roan Mountain group got nice looks at a Pine Siskin nest, a
Brown Creeper with nesting material in its mouth (note: I think the tree in
question for a possible nest was just inside North Carolina on the road to the
Rhododendron Gardens), and a Broad-winged Hawk flying over Round Bald (above
Carver's Gap) with a snake in its talons. I included a Nighthawk that I saw
at my apartment in Elizabethton, TN, as I was leaving to go to Roan Mountain
to meet the group there on Sunday.

The complete list below with a legend showing dates and abbreviations for
places the birds were seen. Great weekend!
