[Bristol-Birds] Giles County Birding Festival (Virginia)

Celebrate Spring Migration at the Giles County Birding Festival (Virginia)
May 18-20 2007
The festival will feature over 35 field trips and workshops from which to
chose, including raft trips on the New River.
Activities begin at noon on Friday with field and float trips, followed by a
video of the Birds of Giles County that evening. Saturday will be filled with
field trips, workshops, and children's nature activities.
The evening banquet will feature keynote speaker Jeff Walters, who has worked
with threatened and endangered species including the Red-cockaded Woodpecker,
the Guam Kingfisher and the Laysan Duck. He will relate some of the challenges
and success stories from his work. On Sunday there will be more field trips and
a closing barbeque.
The event is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries,
For the Birds, Giles County, Mt. Lake Hotel, the Inn at Riverbend and the
