Greeneville;
eastern Greene County: Tusculum area;
western Greene County: Midway, Mohawk, McDonald, etc.
The wave of birds continued today. I logged 88 species without putting
forth any special effort for high numbers. Highlights included:
Great Egret (2--1 on Murray Bridge Road, 1 on North Mohawk Road);
Wood Duck (4);
Blue-winged Teal (6 on Murray Bridge Road);
Osprey (2 on Jim Kirk Road 0.2 mi. from Mohawk Creek Road--exactly where
1 was seen on April 3 by various members of Greeneville TOS; not an
obvious nesting or feeding site, so observations on both dates is
somewhat unexpected);
Broad-winged Hawk (Midway);
Northern Bobwhite (near Tusculum);
Greater Yellowlegs (7 in western Greene County);
Lesser Yellowlegs (21 in western Greene County);
Solitary Sandpiper (16 in western Greene County--my personal high count
for Greene County);
