Area Birders,
This morning, 5/20/ I went for a short bike ride around Compton Mountain,
here in Buchanan County. Within a couple of miles I had logged 40 species.
The highlight of the morning were two CERULEAN WARBLERS, singing at
different locations. Two GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHERS  were heard. One was in
my yard, and the other farther around the mountain. Also located was a
YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, 3 SCARLET TANAGERS, 2 YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS, 2
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS, 2 PILEATED WOODPECKERS, 3 HOODED WARBLERS, 5
AMERICAN REDSTARTS, 1 YELLOW WARBLER, 6 INDIGO BUNTINGS, 1 WHITE-EYED VIREO
and 1 WOOD THRUSH.
