Monday I birded Upper Paint Creek Rd. (Viking Mtn. Rd.) in Greene Co. with 
Linda and Dexter Newman.  At Cutshaw Bog we heard a woodpecker drumming.  It 
was very fast, I think maybe a Downy Woodpecker.  Each time it drummed, before 
it finished a Cope's Gray Treefrog would call in response!  The sounds were 
very similar, same speed, pitch, etc.  Now, if only frogs had wings...

The day afield was quite enjoyable birdwise, too, with great looks at several 
good species;  Common Raven, Ruffed Grouse (sitting in a gravel road - Dexter 
snuck up on it real close for pictures), Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted 
Grosbeak, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Canada 
Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Red-eyed and Blue-headed Vireo, Veery and more.  Can't 
wait to see the pictures!

Let's go froggin-uuuuh I mean..., whatever.
