[Bristol-Birds] Greene Co. Conn. Warbler, Lincoln's Sparrow et al

A male Connecticut Warbler was heard, then seen in a plantation of loblolly
pine with multiflora rose undergrowth Wednesday. He did not respond to a taped
song played back at the same site this morning, Thursday.
Wed. a Lincoln’s Sparrow was briefly seen in a nearby fencerow with a Song
Sparrow nearby for comparison.
On both Wed. and Thurs., three Red-headed Woodpeckers were seen in the
vicinity of the private lake adjacent to the 4-H Center’s “back forty”.
They were calling, drumming, and investigating holes in the stand of dead pines
nearby.
Other birds of interest observed in this time period:
Green Heron
Red-tailed Hawk adult pair
American Kestrel
Northern Bobwhite
Yellow-billed Cuckoo (heard)
Ruby-throated Hummingbird inspecting lichens on tree
Great Crested Flycatcher
Eastern Kingbird
Cedar Waxwing (ca 50 feeding in hemlock tree)
Yellow-throated Vireo (heard)
Common Yellowthroat male ‘swishing’ his tail at a female
Summer Tanager adult pair
Blue Grosbeak adult pair
Field Sparrows with juveniles
Grasshopper Sparrow
