Bert,
Are you talking about some sort of poison? I wonder if there is any other
way to exclude the snakes from the bird box? Poisons aren't necessarally
selective...if there's any other way to discourage the snakes, I'd go for
it..

Marion

Subject: [bristol-birds] Dead Birds

I have had a nest of nut hatches in a box at home which had been feeding
until a few days ago. There were two small babies. Yesterday I checked the
box to find an adult bird dead on the nest.

This is a box that I had the same thing happen to a blue bird two years ago.
For years it had been invaded by black snakes (one year Iremoved five). For
the
last fouror five years I have used "Snake Away". Could there be a connection
between the dead birds and the substance? Any suggestions?

Loaraine & Bert Hale
Bluff City,
