Stopped today to check the progress of the Ft. Patrick Henry Great Horned Owls.
Both are sitting up very strong in the nest. So far I have not seen either
hanging out on nearby branches. I had believed these owls were about the same
age as the pair that fledged from their nest over a week ago on DeVault Bridge
Rd. I also thought if they were close to taking flight that Friday nights
storms would have pushed or blown them over the edge. It will be interesting
to see just how much longer these two stick to the nest.

Also spotted one Black Crowned Night Heron, a Carolina Wren, a multitude of
Great Blue Herons, one male Eastern Bluebird and four squabbling Tree Swallows.

I love these warm spring days.
