Area Birders,
About 11:45 this morning, 4/11/05 I heard the song of the first YELLOW WARBLER,
as I stepped outside. I stopped to try to locate him, and watched him fly from
the apple tree in the yard. It's nice to have them back. They usually nest in
the maples around the yard.
A few minutes before that I watched the first RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET of the
season feeding in a White Pine near the edge of the woods. The pair of BROWN
THRASHERS are back again, and TREE SWALLOWS are checking out the unoccupied
Purple Martin House.
Sping is great.
