[Bristol-Birds] Black-and-white Warbler - Breaks, Dickenson Co., Virginia

Bristol Birders,
I made a quick birding trip this morning to Breaks Interstate Park
(7:15-8:30 a.m.). At the Towers Overlook I heard three Blue-headed Vireos
and a single Black-and-white Warbler. The B&W was a surprise as I normally
hear Black-throated Green Warblers a couple of days before the
Black-and-whites. With good weather forecast for the next couple of days
I'm sure the Black-throated Greens will be here in the next 48 hours or so.
At Laurel Lake I found six Wood Ducks, six NRW-Swallows, a Pied-billed
Grebe, a Great Blue Heron, and another Blue-headed Vireo. The Red-wing
Blackbirds were singing all along the edge of the lake in the cattails.
Chipping Sparrows could be heard singing all over the park.
The overlooks were very windy and made listening for early Black-throated
Green or Yellow-throated Warblers in the gorge difficult.
Get out and enjoy this spring weather.
