Hey Wallace,
About your Hermit Thrush, I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago
when a Greene Co. farmer burned off his fields along Little Indian Creek Rd.
There was a large flock of American Robins there a few days later, all evenly
spread out across the field, as they are wont to do, and on the side near the
woods was a Hermit Thrush on a stalk who proceeded to walk out into the field
just like the Robins. I did a double take to make sure. I wondered if they
were eating fried worms.
