[Bristol-Birds] Black-throated Green Warblers - Dickenson County, Virginia

Bristol Birders,
Buchanan Co. Bird Club members Ed Talbott Jr. and Ed Talbott, III hiked a
reclaimed strip mine on Home Creek in Buchanan County this morning.
Highlights of the trip included a Swamp Sparrow, Golden-crowned Kinglets,
and six species of Woodpecker. After lunch we decided to make a quick trip
over Bull Gap to the Breaks Interstate Park and hopefully locate an early
migrant. At the Breaks we found several Blue-headed Vireos but the
highlight was our first migrant warbler of the year - the Black-throated
Green Warbler. We managed to hear at least two BT-Green Warblers - one at
the Stateline Overlook and one along the nature drive. We are already
planning a Pine Mountain hike tomorrow to look for more migrants.
