I called about lodging. I intend to make motel reservations at Hatteras Harbor 
Motel in Cape Hatteras for June 6 & 7 for $69 +  tax per night, dbl. with $12 
for a 3rd person with a rollaway. They currently have plenty of rooms but 
expect to fill up soon. I will reserve a dbl. at Dare Haven Motel in Manteo for 
June 8 at $65 + tax with $12 for a 3rd person with a rollaway. If you want to 
split costs on these rooms it will be first come first serve. Everyone is to 
take care of there own lodging arrangements otherwise. It would be good to stay 
at the same motels but there are options. Check out patteson.com for more 
information.

The boat trip cost $90. We are planning to go on Saturday, June 7. Reservations 
are highly recommended. He also has a trip that Sunday, June 8, but unless we 
use that as a back-up in case of weather cancellation, we will be birding on 
shore that day. 

I looked into renting a van for the trip. If there are enough people 
interested, it is feasible. For instance, a 12 passenger van split 10 ways 
would run about $40 per person for 4 days. I will plan on taking my car with 
room for 3 others unless I get request for the van rental. I don't encourage 
caravaning to and from the Outer Banks.

This is shaping up to be a real blast. So far Don Holt, Rack Cross, Janice 
Martin, Sybil Williams, Mike Evans, Mary Evans, Bill Grigsby, Rick Knight, 
James Brooks, Ruth Smith, Allan Trently, Rob Biller and I have responded with 
interest in going. Get on board. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
